Course Planning and Implentation

2-day implementation workshop
Prior to the start of the course, the TAC will provide, or arrange for Academic Innovations to provide, a 2-day implementation workshop.  In the event an Academic Innovations trainer is brought in for this workshop, the TAC must still be in attendance.  (This must be added to the final TAC budget figure.)

It is important that at least four or five hours during this workshop are used for finalizing customized lesson plans. Therefore, all participants must complete the following Academic Innovations online training videos (OTVs):

Prior to the 2-day workshop
Arrange for each participant in the workshop to watch the following OTVs found on The Teachers’ Lounge in this order:

It is the TAC’s responsibility to help the course instructors through The Teachers’ Lounge registration process in order to gain access to the above OTVs and assessments.  This will need to be accomplished at least two weeks prior to the 2-day implementation workshop so the participants have time to complete their assignments.  

When the instructors have successfully completed each of the above assignments, they can print a list verifying successful completion of each training video. They should be asked to bring their proof of completion to the 2-day implementation workshop.  The TAC may also want to arrange for instructors to be compensated for this work (if done outside regular working hours) and/or promote the option of earning CEU/graduate units for their time spent learning the material. 

Evaluation Criteria

Prior to the start of the Career Choices course:

  • The course instructors have a customized lesson plan, adhering to the scope and sequence, for all instructors to follow
  • All course instructors have attended the 2-day implementation workshop
  • All course instructors have completed the OTMs and assessments outlined above
